Rapid Assessment of Irregular Migration

Australian Customs and Border Protection Service commissioned UDA Consulting to conduct a rapid assessment of the impact of the Australian Government’s announcement of a suspension of processing of new asylum claims from Afghans. UDA Consulting conducted a survey in Afghanistan and Pakistan with a total 250 people, focused on members of the Hazara community to analyse the reasons of irregular immigration. The majority of interviews were in Quetta, Pakistan and Kabul, Afghanistan. The output of this rapid assessment constructed a baseline for the next larger project.

Development of mechanisms for ongoing monitoring of source communities and their emigration pressures in Afghanistan and Pakistan for Australian Government Customs and Border Protection Service. The purpose of the mechanisms was to generate streams of information from immigrants that would be used as input for Australian policy-making processes and contribute to migration statistics database of the Australian government.

This project was developed to provide trainings to increase the statistical analysis capacity of Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Turkey. This training included data collection, data analysis, data manipulation and data modeling methods with usage of SPSS.

The overall aim of the training was to increase the statistical capacity of the decision makers within the abovementioned institution, to make sure that reforms meet the requirements.

Labour Market Survey for WYG Consulting

Within project 'Improvement of Public Employment Services in Turkey' UDA Consulting was contracted to implement a labour market survey in Samsun. The aim of the project was to understand the labour market structure and develop a labour market analysis guideline for further reporting across Turkey. Survey was implemented by face to face interviews with 1387 enterprises based in Samsun. The output of this project constructed a baseline for the next larger project. It also strengthened capacity on labour statistics of Samsun ISKUR Directorate.

Providing Agro-pedological and Climatological  Knowledge Base

Agro-pedological and Knowledge Base

The main purpose of the project was to collect agronomic data in order to enrich the current database for Ukraine and Turkey and to allow a calibration of the crop growth model for the most important crops in these countries. These models produced several information on the different crops simulated in CGMS: their development status, the carbon balance information, and also about the water balance of the plant and soil.

UDA Consulting provided M&E expert to WYG Consulting for the project of ‘Improving the Quality of Public Employment Services’. Within the scope of project, the M&E expert supported project team in development of ALMP monitoring and evaluation system.The services include, proving assistance to detailed review of existing programmes and contributions to the establishment & the refinement of a model for ALMP Evaluation which was reviewed by working groups.

Statistics Training to UNODC Staff

Training towards increasing the statistical analysis capacity of the UNODC Country Office in Afghanistan and Ministry of Counter Narcotics. This training included survey methodology, data collection, data analysis, data manipulation and data modeling methods with usage of SPSS.

The overall aim of the training was to contribute to implementation of illicit crop monitoring surveys of Afghanistan, which are conducted by UNODC- Kabul and MCN jointly.
