Rapid Assessment of Irregular Migration

Rapid Assessment of Irregular Migration

Australian Customs and Border Protection Service commissioned UDA Consulting to conduct a rapid assessment of the impact of the Australian Government’s announcement of a suspension of processing of new asylum claims from Afghans. UDA Consulting conducted a survey in Afghanistan and Pakistan with a total 250 people, focused on members of the Hazara community to analyse the reasons of irregular immigration. The majority of interviews were in Quetta, Pakistan and Kabul, Afghanistan. The output of this rapid assessment constructed a baseline for the next larger project.
