Evaluation of the Project on Protection of Refugees

This is a summative end-of-project evaluation aimed at ensuring accountability between IMPR, World Vision and ECHO on the use and outcomes of the funds provided for the specific objective and results agreed upon in the Action design. Emerging lessons shall be identified by the evaluator and discussed between the implementing partners as part of the validation of the evaluation results and follow-up to inform future programming and cooperation.

In the framework of the work program, the World Bank Group (WBG) in Ethiopia is currently conducting a study measure the economic impact and resilience mechanisms of floods on the affected urban slums in Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa. The study will consist of interviews with randomly selected total of 1200 HHs in Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa .

UDA Consulting was contracted by Ministry of Development-COMCEC OIC to carry out the study on “Improving Agricultural Statistics In The COMCEC OIC Region”. The study included managing agricultural statistical systems including agricultural data collection, compilation, processing, and dissemination in the COMCEC OIC Region. UDA experts identified the key factors for enhancing the cooperation and coordination between organizations and other stakeholders for producing agricultural statistics in the COMCEC OIC Region.

Georgia: Household Surveys on Forest Use

The objective of the study is to assist the forest policy on forest dependence, poverty and natural hazards in Georgia. It is also aimed to enhance the understanding of the linkages between poverty and forest dependency globally. The outcomes of the study will help to support the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resource Protection (MENRP), and National Forest Agency (NFA) in particular, in the on-going sector reforms. The data is obtained through household visits and by survey method.

World Vision has started to implement an ECHO project that aims at improving protection support to those groups of refugees as well as to the vulnerable host families in Turkey. The purpose of this baseline evaluation report is to provide information base against project goal, to analyse outcome indicators to further assess the progress within the project final evaluation and to set up benchmarks against the ECHO project indicators.


Socio-Economic Analysis of the Forest Villages

The objective of this study is to gather information on the forest villagers of Turkey, their dependence on the forest, and poverty and migration among them, and so to inform the development of forestry policies. 2037 households have been surveyed that take place in 202 villages in all over Turkey. Moreover, a survey asking general information on the village was implemented in each village. The households in each village were chosen randomly. UDA carried out regular on-the-spot checks during the survey application.
